One of the many pleasures I have as Chair of MBWIB is participating in honoring the Woman of the Year. This year’s Woman of the Year, Lynn Goldberg, exemplifies the qualities of community involvement, philanthropy, generosity, and mentorship that we value so highly.
I personally had the good fortune to meet Lynn back in 2008. I was just starting out in my “adult” career and I wanted to get involved in something that would help me gain confidence, allow me to give back to the community in which I lived, and promote the growth of my business. I went to the chamber’s Manhattan Beach Women in Business Committee and Manhattan Beach Young Professionals looking for guidance. I got really involved with both of them and then one day Lynn pulled me aside and said, “The women of MBWIB need you. Wouldn’t you rather play on our team?” That stuck with me and here I am now, confident, involved in my community, and my business in booming.
Lynn Goldberg has a long volunteer history with MBWIB. She served as Conference Chair of MBWIB in 2010, Vice-Chair in 2009, Auction and Speaker Chair in 2008, and Auction Chair in 2006.
In her professional life, Lynn has a new venture called Spark Enterprise, which brings expert authors to educate and inspire businesses. Prior to Spark, Lynn founded Clutterflyz, a Manhattan Beach company that provided lifestyle management and organizational services. Before Clutterflyz, Lynn was the VP of Marketing for MediaLive International, and was responsible for the largest international technology event, COMDEX. Lynn lived in Seattle for many years where she worked at both Microsoft and RealNetworks in their marketing, evangelical, and advertising divisions. She lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband, Steve and two children, Julia and Kevin.
I am honored and pleased to announce Lynn Goldberg, is the 2011 MBWIB Woman of the Year.
